OFFSET
PROJECT DESCRIPTION : Designing a mobile, autonomous micro-architecture that is perfectly suited to a specific lifestyle, combining design, modularity, ingenious energy management, and fine-tuned adaptation to natural cycles. This project offers a sensitive and technical response to contemporary housing challenges while positioning itself, between nomadism and rootedness.
ROLE AND CONTRIBUTION : Research focusing on single-family homes and nomadic living, research on analogous concepts, space creation, architectural process research. Modeling done on Sketchup, plans done on Autocad, renderings done on Twinmotion.
DATE : July 2025 – 2nd year of bachelor’s degree

“Lilou is looking for a bungalow/tiny house to use on the construction sites where she works, away from her main residence. She wants an office, away from the hustle and bustle, where she can work alone or with others, and relax.”

OFFSET is a Tiny House designed for use on construction sites and has been designed with a roof that doubles as signage.
Raised position : Lilou receives visitors, and the tiny house serves as a welcoming office for the public (other workers on the site) on an ad hoc basis.
Openings are revealed when the tiny house is raised, allowing communication with others and creating a sense of transparency.

Inside, the tiny house is divided into three areas:
- Red : rest area
- Gray : water area
- Yellow : work area
The work area also serves as a kitchen.

The water area serves as a neutral point and accentuates the existing polarity, as it is located between the work and rest areas.
The water area has two access points to each zone.
When in a closed position, as mentioned above, users can interact with all areas.
When in an open, access to these areas is no longer possible from the inside.

The rest area is modular.
In the closed position:
In the open position:
The platform supporting the bed rises when the tiny house is lifted, revealing a “private” office underneath.

Meanwhile, the rest area is raised.
The tiny house doubles its ceiling height.
Originally designed for the bathroom area, the skylight serves as a light well for all spaces when the tiny house is raised.

We have come to the end of the OFFSET adventure. We hope you enjoyed our project proposition to Lilou’s request and that you will remember it fondly…
